What I have learned about which i didn't know from the article "Space Exploration" by Tony White and James Bell", portrays how exploration first began October 4, 1957. The USSR had launched there first satellite known as sputnik and was first satellite to orbit the earth. April 12, 1961 was the first time humans went out into space to circle around the earth in a spacecraft it was indeed a soviet cosmonaut. Apollo 8 proved we can make it to the moon and it orbited around the moon ten times in 1968. The voyager 2 spacecraft took 33,000 pictures of Jupiter and it's 5 major satellites.
